Operation: Iraqi Freedom
- Drag Racer Pat Maset
We would
like to honor WDIFL member and drag racer Sergeant Pat Maset
of Fort Bragg, NC. He is Team Sergeant of a Special Operations/Psywar
team and currently on his second tour of duty operating in Western
Iraq, near the Syrian Border. He's married, and the father of
an eight-year old son and six year old daughter. On the right
is Pat being greeted (very rare for the Marine Corps to decorate
and Army guy) by Marine Corps Commandant Michael Hagee.
Pat and his buddies spend
a lot of what free time they get on WDIFL. He's is looking forward
to coming home to his family and race car (below).
We support Pat and all
our brave soldiers serving in the Middle East and other foreign
lands to keep the United States the greatest country in the world.
Godspeed all of you.
 Here you can see the
background a tad better, those barriers in the back are the Syrian
border. Bright, Sunny, and 120 degrees. I can't wait to get home
and see trees and grass, and anything else green! Take care all.
 07-15-06 a note from
Pat: Hi everyone, I just figured you would enjoy seeing what
good soldiers read out here. The funny thing is, I got the magazine
from the Iraqi army barracks! So you see what I am reading but
look at the cover to see what I am reading about. Anyway, I hope
everyone gets a kick out of it. Take care

 Some good will.
 Pat and some locals.
 This is Pat's dad, Dave
taking five at the 2006 National Hot Rod Reunion in Bowling Green,
KY. Needless to day, dad had a huge influence on Pat's love of
drag racing.

After two tours of duty in hell (Iraq) Pat is now home and not
expecting to be deployed out of the country any time soon. Here
he is with the Greek "204 Car" T-shirt his dad had
everybody sign at Bowling Green (NHRR) this year. We all welcome
him home safe and sound.
