Miller's 23-foot Hallett, "So Long". was a copy of
"Miss Cobra" running a Scrodonia Brother built 354
Chrysler. Drivers included (Dwight (above) and Mac Bale and Tommy
Fults. Fults won the BFH top eliminator at Oroville's "John
Larson Memorial" meet in 1967. In 2009 Don Edwards restored
this piece of drag boat racing history.

Dwight "Hay"
Bale, ranked 7th nationally driving "The Whiz Kids"
dragster, found a new passion in 1967 - drag boats. Dwight put
his 392 hemi in Ron Tourt's hydro and went BFH racing with "Conquest".
Bale raised the record to 181.44 before he was sidelined with
a broken back from a crash in BGF "Sputnik II".

The crew, Ron "Dago" Campagnoli, Jim "Bones"
Noteboom and Bill "Luke" Lucas would go on to race
their own BFH team, "Down n' Out" for the 1971-1973
seasons with Dwight driving.
